IT Network Engineer – TIER 3 (ISSO/ISSM)

This key position will be a part of a diverse IT team to fully support and improve all equipment service and availability of the network – and requires a person who has experience with customer services and is a strong team player.

The primary responsibility is to provide a range of technical support to our on-site employees and customers.  Customer service is our priority and daily customer interaction must be at exceptional levels on a daily basis. The Network Engineer will be expected to be a contributing key player on our Technical Support Team and provide backup as needed for other Network Technicians.  

This role provides proactive network and server maintenance along with Tier 2 & 3 responses to ticket service requests for technical support. This role will also be directly involved as need with security on the network and may be required to attend security training and/or conferences..

 A majority of the following core competencies are required::

  • Server Operating System: Windows 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2
  • Firewalls: (access-lists, NAT, VPN) administration
  • Active Directory: Add/Remove groups, user/computer accounts, group policy management
  • Server Technologies; Remote Desktop Services, Hyper-V, Clustered Servers
  • Desktop Operating Systems:  Windows 7/10
  • Communications:  TCP/ IP, VPN/SSL-VPN, LAN and WAN, HTTP(S)
  • Clustering Technologies: Hyper-V, VMWare, P2V, iSCI, SAN, NAS
  • Scripting: PowerShell, BAT files, Python
  • Communications:  TCP/ IP, VPN/SSL-VPN, LAN and WAN, HTTP(S)
  • Core Network Services: DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SSH

Hands-on experience with core third-party support software highly desired, including many of the following:

  • Enterprise Backup Solutions
  • Enterprise Anti-Virus Software Solutions
  • Enterprise Spyware Software Solutions
  • Enterprise Spam Management Solutions


Information Assurance - IA Level II Preferred

Experience or working toward an Information Security Systems Officer (ISSO) or (ISSM) is a major plus 


  • Associates degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 7+ year’s network or systems administration experience required
  • Professional certifications in Microsoft and/or  Cisco is a major plus
