Sr. IT Network Technician - Tier 3

The primary responsibility of this service expert is to provide full range technical support to SSE clients. This person will join SSE's experienced Networking Services Team.  Responsibility to deliver client network and PC maintenance along with escalated response to telephone calls, email, client visits, and automated request for technical support, utilizing standard operating procedures.

 
Job Requirements/Skills:

-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
-Review and troubleshoot network and PC issues
-Deliver solutions based on established practices and procedures
-Able to work when required with minimal supervision, but willing to embrace a collaborative team environment
-Strong consulting skills and ability to develop and clearly present solutions
-Solid experience and knowledge with Networking (CISCO preferred), Server, Desktop, and LAN/WAN technologies.

-Will have experience with the majority of the following:

  • Firewall - Configure and Troubleshoot firewalls
  • Switches and Routers
  • Spam filtering with Hardware and Cloud
  • Exchange - On premise and Hosted
  • Server Operating Systems - Windows 2008-2012 and SBS, Including migrations
  • Directory Services - Active Directory and LDAP
  • DNS: Implementation and Advanced troubleshooting
  • DHCP - Migration and Implementation
  • Other Server Technologies - Remote Desktop Services and Virtualization
  • Desktop Operating Systems - Windows 7-10
  • Communications - TCP/IP, VPN, LAN and WAN
  • Clustering Technologies
  • Corporate Backup - Datto and Symantec SSR
  • Corporate Anti-Virus Software
  • Corporate Spyware/Malware Software
  • Hyper-V or other virtualization

Education

-Bachelor’s degree in related field with 8+ year’s experience with Networks, Servers, and Workstations.  Professional certifications are a plus.
